In error I deleted a file of jpeg pictures I had been working on. Immediately retrieved and restored from the recycle bin. After restoring the file became all xmp. Where did my jpegs go? Eeekkkk

What version of Elements are you using?
Do you have file extensions turned on in Windows File Explorer?
Do you shoot in raw+jpeg? An .xmp file should only appear for raw files.
