This often happens when users make puchases from "shady" web sites offeringthe program dirt cheap- $29 for "Lifetime" is one I see a lot.   They resell the same license / activation code multiple times which results in many users ending up having the same registration, serial numbers.

How much did you pay for it?  I gaurantee if it was something dirt cheap, let's say $29, then you are basically using a bootlegged version of the software with bogus registration info.

If it appears in your adobe account, then perhaps you would have a good claim.

All adobe software "phones home" pretty regulalry and lets adobe know the registration info- which is them compared to their database of registered users-   sound like this may have happened to you.

What program(s) do you have.  This is the Photoshop Elements forum and I have never seen a message like yours reported before.  Go to your Adobe account and take a look at the status of your subscription.

Also, did you receive this message via email or when you were attempting to use the program.  If you received it via email, it is probably a phishing scam looking for your credit card information.
