Move Catalog from Win to Mac

I'm using PSE since several years and have a catalog with about 50.000 pictures. The catalog itself is stored on my Windows 10 PC and the pictures are stored on my NAS.

Now, I want to move from my Windows PC to a MacBook.

In order to move the PSE catalog to my Mac I have installed PSE 2019 on both machines.

I did a backup on my Windows PC and restored it to my Mac.

Even if PSE reported to have restored the catalog successfully on my Mac, the connection to the pictures stored on my NAS is lost. Obiously the Mac cannot work with the path-information that PSE has stored on my Windows PC.

I tried to let PSE fix the lost connections to my pictures automatically but this failed and I would have to do this manually. But doing this for 50.000 pictures would take me a lot of time...

Does anybody have an idea how I can move my catalog?

Thanks in advance!

Sebastian

Normally you would specify a new location during restore. This could be a separate partition on the NAS. The catalog and all files are then copied. Did you make the Organizer backup to an external hard drive?

I did the backup to a separate hard drive in my Win PC. Afterwards I removed this and connected it to my Mac. Then I started restore on my Mac from the backup hard drive.

However, I was not able to use my NAS as destination for restoring. PSE told me that the catalog can only be stored locally and not on a network drive.

How can I separate the restore: catalog locally and pictures to my NAS? It seems that I missed this option?

    What about the editor?

Can you open or save a file from/to your NAS?

The editor is working as expected. I can open edit and save a picture from the organizer, as long as it has a correct link to the NAS.
