moving the catalog

PSE15 on Win10 (64 bit)
I want to move my catalog files. My pictures are located at/under:

     E:\OneDrive\Pictures\Fotoarchief

and that's where they should remain, if possible. My catalog is called catalogRik and is currently located at:

     C:\Users\HHB\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\catalogRik

I would like to move it to the same drive and folder as my pictures:

     E:\OneDrive\Pictures\Fotoarchief\catalogRik

What would be the safest and most efficient way to do this? Obviously, there's a procedure called "backup & restore", but this involves copying picture files from an original location to a temp location and then to a final location. In my case, this seems a bit cumbersome, since "original" and "final" locations are identical. Directions would be highly appreciated!

    Rik,

When you copy or move the catalog folder elsewhere, even on another drive or master folder, its contents stay valid. You can't move the catalog from the catalog manager, but you can copy or move it from the Windows Explorer. The moved catalog will still point to your images on the OneDrive folder. Just try to copy the folder where you want, use the catalog manager to navigate to the new location. The catalog manager will now consider your catalog as 'in custom location'. No need to change anything to the current location of your photo files.
