i get a generic error message from PDapp.exe the first time I launch Adobe PSE Editor 9.

"The application failed to initialise properly. Click ok to terminate the application"

Now I can click ok and the program runs and works as normal and the error doesn't come back if i launch it a second time.

But i would like to stop it. Can i just delete the exe or rename it?

Any ideas?

PDApp.exe is found in the following locations and is used by the Adobe Application Manager for program updates.

  • Windows 64-bit: \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\
  • Windows 32-bit: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDAApp\core\
  • Mac OS X: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/core/

It’s best not to delete it, but you can stop the daily task.

You change how frequently AAM checks for updates by editing the Windows scheduled task or on the Mac, alter the plist files.
