I have photoshop elements 15 and I am trying to create a simple slide show.  I have the photos I want to use in one flie in the editor and select all of them for the slide show.  When processing the slide show, I get an error message from the program that says:

Skipping invalid items:

Slide show supports photo, video and photoproject formats,  Your selection includes files of other formats and they will be skipped.

The only photos skipped are phots that were scanned from my printer and are in the pdf format.  I'm puzzled.

You said it: the slideshow supports photo, video and photoproject formats. Not printing format like pdf.

It's the first time I see someone using the pdf format for scanning. You can always choose jpeg or tiff.

You can open your scanned pdf in the photo editor, but that requires an additional conversion step for each individual file.

On the other hand, the editor can save as 'photoshop pdf' which is a dual format combining a psd (photo) and Illustrator pdf (vector format). There is no advantage for scanned pictures;  it may be useful to use that option to get a file that can be edited either in Elements or in the pdf reader (the files keeps vector shapes and text from layers). The final format is much bigger.

In recent Organizer versions, pure pdf files are not recognized, only 'photoshop pdf' format.
