Windows 10, PE4 worked fine earlier, now nothing.
Only thing I did was intall wacom intuos 3 driver and I believe it asked about directplay so that was installed also.
What would cause this ?
thx

Wow, no responses ? No other app is causing this behavior. CS2 has ran on this system ( windows 10) and worked flawlessly , always, so what is so unique about PE 4 that it struggles so soon after a 'fresh' install ?

Look... you are not in a chat session. You are on a user to user forum where other users like you volunteer to help (if they feel so inclined)
The general use is to use 'PSE4' for the still image editor, and 'PE4' - Premiere Elements for the video editor which has its own user to user forum. Premiere Elements
Could you confirm which?
Anyway, PSE4 or PS4 are now very old dinosaurs, and you should not be surprised if they meet problems with new OS and new hardware. For instance, I am not sure those versions could support the present big drives... If you could copy and paste what is in the menu Help >> System Info, that might give a clue about your problem.

What does my comment have to do with not being in a 'chat' session?
Is that a thinly veiled attack on me for ,,,something I said ?
I was 'surprised' not to see some kind of HELP is all,is that so surprising ,given I asked for help, on adobe.com, for a adobe product ?
Doesn't matter anyway, I uninstalled , after seeking help in the actual CHAT forum ( no direct support for older products, so it was there or here, obviously) and they dirtected me to CS2 website,so I installed that.
CS2 installed, no more errors, I'm officially done with this thread, but thx anyway;)

How did I answer my own question ?
Why would a wacom driver cause problems with just adobe products, given no other app from any other company is causing me any problems
Thx anyway, wanted to set the record straight, and pls see my post that this thread no longer matters as I"m now, as directed in CHAT ( window) using PS2.

I can't give you a technical explanation, but I can tell you that there have been many threads on the Adobe forums where the problem with an Adobe application turned out to be caused by Wacom drivers.
