PHE15 - does it have smart downsizing dimensions?

Hi

In the 90's I used Micrografx Picture Publisher which was excellent and has this what they called smart sizing - which interpolated lost pixels and identified contrasts and altered pixel colors to look as sharp to the eye.

I think the technique is same as smoothing for fonts that are used in Windows desktop among other places.

Really good for making nice looking thumbnails and having links behind to full size pictures for viewing.

Does Photoshop Elements have anything like this?

Thanks.

Photoshop elements has a couple of choices for downsampling images, most notable is the Bicubic Sharper in the Image>Resize>Image Size dialog.

You can read about the different settings here, but i don't know how they compare to Micrografx Picture Publisher.

You would need photoshop elements 15 not premiere photoshop elements.

Suggest that you download the free, fully functioning, 30-day trial of the program and try it out. If you like it, you can purchase the license subsequently.

    Thanks for link.

I puchased Premiere Elements 15 just a week ago, so there is a downloader to install - but don't feel like using up 2G of data bandwidth of my 20G a month - just to find out it has nothing like that.

Most probably such a feature is a sales point like it was for PP - so figured somebody would know about it.

I know Corel bought Micrografx, so will check those out.

Looked at number of programs that do upsizing to look good for printing purposes - but not downsizing stuff, which would be more difficult having less space to represent the image.

Maybe i misunderstood what you wrote "I puchased Premiere Elements 15 just a week ago", but since you purchased the bundle with both pre 15 pse 15, no worries they are the same as if you bought them separately.

No worries, then we are almost on the same page.

I bought PRE15 - and installer there installed a startup dialog with to start Organizer, Video Editor or to install trial for PHE15 or buy it as well as I recall.

I was a bit back and forth about buying the bundle but went for Premiere only.

Don't know if you upgrade for better price from this dialog, having Premiere as well?

Since account has it registered, I looked if there are purchase options making price similar to buying the bundle to start with.

But will evaluate PHE15 first, to see if downsizing is better than what I have. Some algos are the same as Bicubic and also High Quality Bicubic.

    Anyway, sorry for confusion....
