Photomerge issue

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and Photoshop Elements 2020.  Elements is working very well except for the photomerge function, I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my images as they merge well using an older version of Elements on an older computer with windows.  When using this photomerge feature, it appears to be processing properly and than just reverts to the initial "guided" screen.  No results.  

Any suggestions?
