Photoshop Elements 13 Editor - how to get features online?

I purchased this Aug 2015 and have limped along - I keep getting messages that the program can't communicate online and therefore I can't download all the features. I should've complained then. The past 3 days I've been spending hours working on images for an important talk and all of a sudden the features - especially "select" - disappeared and there are other icons, for things I can't use. I just downloaded the software again, and again could not connect online, and the download I now have also lacks the features I desperately need.

I cannot find any information on how to rectify this situation.

This is a serious error on Adobe's part and I need help asap.

Hi Jaffrey,

It would be helpful, if you could attach the screenshot of message you getting.

What all features are missing in your application. Could you please attach the screenshot of that too.

Are all other features working fine ?

Here are 3 screen shots.

What's missing in the option (left column) in Elements is quick select - which is where the small brush next to the lasso now is. This option now appears only in the quick (not expert) choice.

There is no screenshot attached and you need to come to these forums to post images.  Email reply won't work so please login to adobe forums and post your screenshot.

It looks like you may need to reset the preferences but first let us see what exactly are you getting on your screen.

Have you tried what JAY suggested. Is your application working fine after resetting the Preferences.
