Question

Photoshop Elements 15 kicks me off internet

I just purchased and installed Photoshop Elements 15. I've never owned any of these photo editors before. I am using Windows 10 on my home laptop on my home router's wi-fi. Since I've installed it 2 nights ago, whenever I am on the internet I am getting kicked off my connection. I have a feeling it is somehow related to PE because I was not having this problem before the installation. I've unistalled the program and will see if this makes a difference. Any ideas or suggestions why this would be happening and what to do about it?

Hi Rebecca,

I would recommend that please recheck the internet connection first. If this doesn't fix your issue then could you please answer following questions.

1. Do you also observe this issue when Photoshop Elements is not running?

2. Are you seeing this issue in a particular scenario or a workflow?

3. Have you installed any other software parallel to the PSE15 which may affect the connectivity?

Thanks,

Raushan

I have a similar problem, Photoshop Elements 15 not connected.....It updates fine, but when I try to put in my serial key (legally purchased) it won't connect ?  Any settings I missing ?  It's not my internet, I loaded it on two separate computers at different times and it does the exact same thing .?

What is your operating system?  Can you post the contents of your Hosts file?  Hosts file in a Windows system is located at this location:

<C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc>

It is a Windows 10 HP computer. Also tried an install on an ASUS Windows 10 laptop, same thing. Deleting host file did nothing !

I am still having major issues. Serial Number was for a Mac computer, now I have a proper Windows Serial Number. Contacted Adobe direct to try and help. I did get the Serial Number to go through once, but I had one number wrong, so it told me false key. I input correct key, still not able to connect to internet ! Help !

What exactly do you mean by "kicks me off internet".  are you saying that your internet connection is cut off?  How do you know that?  Have you tried using some video sites to see if you can view something in a live environment?

Have you activated your product yet?  Activation is always required to continue using the application after 30 days.

To clarify - whether I am using PSE or not, i get a notification that I am not connected to the internet. When I see that I go into a browser and sure enough I have no internet connection. When my son was using my laptop (under his own user ID) for his own web browsing, the connection was constantly being lost.

I'm assuming I've activated the program. I've entered the serial number and installed program and followed whatever it asked me to do. I've been able to upload pictures and try to navigate around the program as best I can (since I'm a novice) but overall it seems very slow and then I get the notification that I've lost my internet connection.
