Photoshop Elements 15 Won't Open on Mac

New Here ,
Sep 12, 2017 Sep 12, 2017

I recently downloaded Elements 15 for the first time from a CD to my Mac. It worked fine once two days ago. I tried to open it again yesterday. It activates in my toolbar, then disappears without ever opening. I gave up and tried again today. Nothing. I decided to open the Organizer app, which works. Then I went to the Adobe Application Manager and updated. Photoshop opened for a few seconds, then closed again. I even went to my task manager to make sure I didn't have the app open already without realizing it. Nothing. I don't know what to do.

Hi,

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Do you get any crash reports while launching the application? If yes, then please post the logs here.

Meanwhile, you can try clearing application preferences, as mentioned at Preference file locations for Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements , and see if the application launches fine.

Thanks,

Arshla

I didn't get a crash report. I can't clear the application preferences. I can't even uninstall the application to attempt to reinstall it because it won't move to the trash bin.

Hi,

You need not launch the application for uninstalling.

Please see Uninstall Adobe Premiere Elements or Photoshop Elements for instructions on how to uninstall.

Thanks,

Arshla

I had the same problem and months of use without issue... i used another login and it worked fine, so i knew it was a setting in a user specific file.  glad i found this post; deleting the folders, as listed, on my mac, provided the fix.  starts back up.  thanks!!
