Photoshop Elements 2021 missing "Lighting Effects"

Hi,

I just "upgraded" to the latest version (2021 for Mac OS) and realized the "lighting effects" filter under Filter -> Render -> Lighting Effects that was there in my really old PSE 10 is gone. I attached a screen shot. It used to be right under the Lens Flare filter. Did it get removed?? I used it quite a bit.

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, the Lighting Effects filter is no longer available in Adobe Photoshop Elements. I think it was removed in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 when it was among a few features that got dropped as Adobe moved the Elements codebase to 64-bit.

Robin Nichols has published a good YouTube video demonstrating how to get the same sort of effects in more recent versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements:

Adobe should've kept it though. It was easier to do.
