Photoshop Elements 2021 / Nikon Z6iii

I recently purchased a Nikon Z6iii and I'm having an issue with uploading RAW photo files into the elements 2021 organizer. When I try to upload the files I keep receiving the error "files were skipped because they are not supprted"? I know that the files are usable because I can upload them into Topaz Photo AI. I'm wondering if the Z6ii has to be added somehow or should simply just work?

Your camera requires ACR version 16.5.  Elements 2021 only updates to version 13.  Although there is a workaround to install a higher version of ACR, I don't believe that your program will allow an update to ACR 16.5.  Your choices are to either update to Elements 2025 or else convert your raw files to .DNG, using the Adobe DNG Converter utility.

I was afraid it was something like that. I often work in Topaz first, convert to DNG and continue in PE 2021. It probably makes sense to upgrade. Up until now I wasn't really interested in upgrading to 2025 because of the "subscription" type format. It seems like 2024 can upgrade to ACR 16+ but I need to confirm that. I'll also look at the DNG converter and see how practical that is. When you upgrade your camera, it not just the cost of the camera that you have to factor into your plan.................

Thank you for the information, appreciate it.

If you can find a legitimate copy of Elements 2024, it will upgrade to ACR 16.5.

And, yes, when you upgrade your camera equipment, it's usually not the only purchase you have to make.

Thanks again. I actually decided to bite the bullet and purchased PE2025,
so I'm good for 3 more years.
