Photoshop Elements 2025 with Topaz plugin not working

I have downloaded a trial copy of Photoshop Elements 2025. I currently use PE 2019 with a Topaz Denoise plugin. I have been unable to get PE 2025 to see the plugin. When I click on the Topaz Pugin in the PE drop down menu (beacuse it does appear there), I get the message

Could not complete the Topaz DeNoise AI command because the file was not found.  I have reinstalled the Topaz app several times without success and manually copied the Topaz plugin into te PE plugins folder. Is there anything else I can do to sort this? I am reluctant to purchase the PE 2025 app if I can get the plugin to work as its a key part of my current workflow as a hobbyist.

Many thanks for taking time to read this.

Carlton

I installed a trial version of Topaz Denoise AI 3.7.2 on a 2015 MacBook Pro running macOS Sonoma 14.7.2

and it seems to work okay in Photoshop Elements 2025.

https://docs.topazlabs.com/other-apps/legacy

Don't know if the your serial number would work in the newer Topaz DeNoise AI 3.7.2 version of if you could even upgrade to the newer version since it's a "Legacy" plugin no longer sold by Topaz.

You might have to go with Photo AI as suggested by Glenn.

Hi Jeff and Glenn, Thanks for your help and suggestions.  I have a M4 Mac mini upgarded from a 2013 IMAC which was Intel. I have contacted Topaz support to see if they have any suggestons. If I get a result I will post back here.

Carlton K,

Is your Mac an Intel or Apple Silicon?

What version of macOS are you using?

Apple>About This Mac will tell you if you don't already know.

I know nothing about Macs, but you may want to try the Edit>Preferences>Plugins dialog to add the folder in which the Topaz plug-in has been installed.  Topaz has been particularly funky with its installation procedures and seems to install the plug-in files in a number of different locations.  Otherwise contact Topaz support.

Added:  And although it is somewhat pricey, I have to say that the latest plug-in is very effective for denoising and sharpening.  Thank goodness for Black Friday sales promotions.

Thanks Greg and Glenn for your comments. I appreciate your help. I have just committed to PSE 2025. The plugin still does not work even after reinstalling PSE. I am begining to wonder if my Topaz version is compatable. I am running 2.3.6. I have via the PSE settings/plugin menu found the root to the plugin but it remains greyed out. I have attached a screenshot. If you have anymore thoughts. Please let me know.

Thanks again.

Things get greyed out on macs, and windows, when you do not have access to open / edit the things in that location.

Instead og going to that location via the PSE preference file, can't you just navigate to the same location outside of the program?

I insatalled 2.3.6 on my windows computer-- bottom line: I cant get it to work in pse- which makes me think it's a compatibility issue-  even though the software is less than 3 years old. Dewnoise has been rolled into the new photo AI tool- which alsop makes me think topaz labs killed of the denosie app-  which they stopped supporting back around NOV of 2023.

Even though I'm not a mac guy all that stuff I just mentioned indicates to me that you denoise 2.3.6 is dead in the water.

I've played around with the denoise built into the photo AI stuff and it's pretty sweet, but currently is $169.

I've got a trial version of topaz labs latest photo AI installed and working with zero issues in pse 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2020, 2018, even 2014-   it does not assppear in pse 10.  I didn't manually do anything to get it to appear in all those installed versions , it literally just appeared in every version.

Denoise in built into the photo AI plugin I downloaded last week.

There is a thread below where someone got the Topaz plugin to work with PE 2025. It wa steh case of ensuring all files were copied to the appropriate PE pluns location

Check you have done that. If it's still not working, give info of what you copied and where with any screenshot that can help show what's happening.

Hi Dean,

Thanks you for your help. I have copied the Topaz Denoise plugin from the Topaz plugin folder into the PSE 25 plugin folder and I still get the error message “Could not complete the Topaz DeNoise AI command because the file was not found.” I also tried copying the plugin folder from my PSE 2019 into the PSE 25 with no success. I have attached three screen shots. The first showing the root to the plugin folder. The second showing the folders in the plugin folder and lastly the plugin in that folder. You will see that the Topaz folder is an alias but I have also deleted that folder and copied theTopaz folder into the PSE25 plugin folder.

Thanks

I've moved your post from Photoshop to the Photoshop Elements forum.
