I have Photoshop Elements 5.0 installed. Everything is OK, but I cannot save the image as a web graphic. It is displayed under "File" but it is not selectable.

What version of Windows are you using?

Have you been able to use File>Save for Web before?

Can you post a screenshot of Photoshop Elements 5 including the image/document and Layers panel?

I've been using Windows 11 for a few months and then installed this version of Photoshop. I also had 5.0 under Windows 10 and had no problems with it.

I only have Elements 4 and 6 installed on a Win 11 machine.  I had no problem saving for web on either.  But when I used a high resolution jpeg in Elements 6, I got the following message:

So, include in your response, the dimensions of the file you are trying to save, in addition to the screenshot requested by Jeff.

Are you running the program in compatibility mode?  If not, give that a try:

  • Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 5.0
  • Right-click on the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file
  • Select Properties
  • Click on the Compatibility tab
  • Check the box to run in Compatibility Mode and choose Windows 8.
  • Click Apply and OK
