Photoshop Elements 9 reinstall on Mac OS

Question

I purchased photoshop elements 9 in 2011 and installed it on my Lenovo PC. I just got a new MacBook Pro that does not have a disc drive. How can I install this program on my new computer? I have been on the Adobe website and tried to use direct download link, which didn't work. I then visited the forums and went through the process of using the terminal to install it, which also didn't work. I know I can use my serial number once more and I do not want to have to purchase PSE again. How can I download and actually install the full version of the program?

Unless you bought the boxed dvd set for pse 9 that includes disks for both mac and windows, then your windows serial won't work for pse 9 on a mac. In other words, the serials for the mac and windows versions of pse 9 are different, unless you have the dvd set in which the same serial works for both systems.

I'm afraid in that case you'll need a new mac version of photoshop elements.
