Photoshop Elements Organizer - Photo Downloader sorts the items by modified date instead of created

Hello, I took over 1k photos on a recent vacation, and spent a lot of time in my iPhone's Photos app fixing and enhacing the photos. Now I find that downloading them to my computer is impossible with Elements Organizer because it auto-sorts based on modified date, when it should sort by date created or date taken - or allow the user to choose. I don't see a screen selection for sorting, so is there a way to change this in settings / preferences?

If not, is there a bug report or enhancement request that I can boost?

I experimented a bit, trying to replicate your problem. I modified a photo on my iPhone,  and then used Organizer to download it, and the date created didn’t change.  Apparently when you modify a photo on iPhone, it creates a new image of the modified file and appends an ‘E’ to the new file name.  Only the new file shows in iPhotos, but both the original file and the new modified file can be downloaded to Organizer. Looking at your screen shot, it appears you have an original unmodified file named IMG_1394.JPG, and a modified version of that file named IMG_E1394.JPG (see attached screen print ‘E.png’).  Both files have the same date created, which if I'm understanding your issue, this is what you want, right?

In addition to what Monte has said, the real issue is whether the file is being placed in the correct Shot Date sub-folder which is your preference in the Adobe Photo Downloader.  (And also whether it is properly dated chronologically in the grid.)  I have had random situations where the file is being placed in the wrong sub-folder.  However, in those cases, I am always able to retrieve the correct Date Taken information from the file's metadata in the Information panel.  It is then an easy step to either put the file in a correctly dated sub-folder and/or reset the display date in the grid File Details view.
