Photoshop is not releasing memory

Community Beginner ,
Dec 10, 2018 Dec 10, 2018

I am using a droplet to automate an editing process of pictures.

At the end of each process the psd file is saved and closed and the file size is anything from 500mb to 1 Gb

I am trying to automatically process 300 pictures, but after around 60 pictures the machine runs out of memory i get an error, and I can see Photoshop has consumed 64gb of memory which indicates to me that once an image has been processed, saved and closed the used memory is not being released.

As soon as I kill Photoshop the memory is cleared.

This issue is costing me time and money!

To get a reply, my advice would be to ask Adobe, not users in the Elements user to user forum.

You've posted in the Photoshop Elements forum yet your post mentions Photoshop CC.

Can you confirm which version of Photoshop you are using?
