Pricing differences - can a UK user download from US site?

I'm keen to get the elements 18 and premier 18 bundle.  But - on the UK site (my region) it is about £130, which is a lot (imho).  On the US version of the site it is in the black Friday sale until 29 November at $89 - which is only about £65.  That is a massive difference!

So, is there something which stops me from downloading and paying on the US site and using it in the UK?  I'm assuming there must be - but it is a very attractive option.

Finally it seems really unfair that Adobe reduces it for the USA and not for the UK - why is this?

    Your payment method and your AdobeID likely have a country associated with them so you either cannot purchase a US-serial-number using a UK-associated card or AdobeID or you cannot activate the product if you managed to purchase it, perhaps based on the country of the IP address you're activating with.  If you had a US-credit-card and VPNed into a US address and used an AdobeID associated with a US-address maybe it would work, otherwise, probably not, but the fraud-detection could deactivate the product at any time after you activate it so even if you were initially successful things might not work, later.

    Adobe prices products differently in different markets based on the overhead they encounter in those markets as well as the taxation on the revenue returning to the US, which is high.

    And I guess "Black Friday" being tied to Thanksgiving, is a US-thing, so no sale in the UK.

    Appreciate both replies - I would expect what you both write is absolutely correct.  I still feel £130 v £65-ish is a ridiculous difference though.Also, it acts as a deterrent to buying in the UK - if you are on a tight budget you are inclined to wait and wait in the hope of a UK sale instead of buying.

    As far as I know (I don't work for Adobe, so I am going by "dimly remembered" previous discussions) the program you download from the US is somehow marked as being for the US, so it will not register/activate on an account outside the US
