Printing a Grid

I am an artist and Photoshop Elements allows me to use a grid in the transfer process of a photo to the size of the canvas I will paint on by using the grid feature.  How can I print the grid that shows up on my photo on PE so I can draw on the canvas from the printed image later without having to be on PE when I actually draw the image on the canvas?  When I save or print the grid disappears.  Please answer as I am currently attempting to paint several paintings for an upcoming show.  Thank you.
