Printing Elements with Epson XP-55?

Trying to use back-feed of Epson XP-55 printer. Being unable to find anywhere in program about changing source of paper to back-feed, I contacted Epson who say it is a program (Adobe) fault and I can't print this way. I have a similar problem with 'Photo'. I use Mac OS 10.12. I really can't believe I can't use this model ofEpson printer to print Elements - one of the most popular photographic problems in the world!  Can anybody help? Given that it happens on 2 programs and not just Elements, I think the problem is with Epson..... and told them so!
