Can you tell us the version of the application and operating system you are using? Is it Photoshop or Photoshop Elements? Would you mind sharing your workflow? You started noticing this issue after the update. Is it for all the files?
Please try re-installing the application once.
If you refer to Photoshop Elements, try resetting the preferences once after keeping a backup.
