I have an older version of PS Elements and I think its saving photos to my hard drive and I can't figure out where. I called Apple and they also said it was an Adobe issue, Adobe help line said its to old and they aren't trained to answer this version.  I have reviewed similar questions on here but my version is older and I couldn't find the answer. I only save to Dropbox. Please help I have a wedding to edit!! Thank you!

It's neither an Apple nor an Adobe issue.

Elements does not store files, you store files where you want. It's up to you to decide, so you need to understand a few things.

- you can use the organizer or the editor to see where your files are really stored (info panel)

- the organizer only stores links to the real location of your imported files.

- By default, you media files are imported from your camera or card reader in your default  pictures folder, but you can set up a different default location in your preferences.

- You say you are saving only to dropbox: that means you are creating a synced dropbox folder on your computer.

- Scratch disks are used by the program itself to give you much more available memory than your actual RAM. They don't store media files. It's important to have enough free space.

So, to give you more targeted advice, it would help if you could post here the result of the menu Help >> system Info of the editor.

I  called Apple and they also said it was an Adobe issue, Adobe help line

said its to old and they aren't trained to answer this version.

That's very sad

Apple folks should know how to help you find where you store your media files.

Adobe is right that they don't have to support non current versions, but if they say that they are not trained to answer such generic questions, that's really hard to believe!
