PSE 15 Discrepencies

Hi all.

I just purchased PSE 15 from Windows Store.

I found a youtube tutoring channel for the app and have now discovered that some of my drop down menus are missing the update option.

Lacking update options on dropdown help menus in both editor and organizer.

Lacking in edit/preferences there is no 'update options' option in the dropdown menu - so I have no choice to set anything either to automatic download and install updates or notify when an update is available.

Basically my particular version of the software does not appear to have any update capabilities.

Also in drop down edit/preferences Camera or card reader there is are significant amount of missing options.

It seems that the same product is not the same product, so to speak.   Can anyone explain to me why this is the case?  As can be seen in comparing the two images, the options "Application updates" is also missing from my drop down menu.

Hi William

There will be small differences but all the tools should work just the same as the regular version. Like the Apple app store version, the Windows Store version is installed as a container package. The benefit is that your software can be installed on many more Windows devices; whereas the regular licence is limited to two installations. Updates are via Microsoft so you should have the latest patched version.

Okay so I have the latest patched version but does this mean that my particular version cannot be updated? 

I have quickly scanned the data at the link you gave - very informative and I will probably take more time with it later....

I decided to get PSE 15 because I am near completing a music album and on looking for a company which can create CDs, I chose one which sent me some PDF templates for CD artwork and inlays etc....

I had no editing software for pdf so brought the PSE 15 and now of course I have to learn how to use it - so that is why I discovered the discrepancies and have now also discovered that if I want the full course I will have to pay...fortunately I do take a lot of photos but my focus has been on music rather than photography so it is a new learning curve but what the hey!

The free part of the course was informative relating to the organizer but stopped short of showing any use of the actual editor...have to pay for that.  

Anyway, it is probably worth investing some $ into learning the product since I went to the troble of buying the product...once again thanks for your answers.
