PSE 15 organizer crash after approx 1 minute

New Here ,
Jun 12, 2017 Jun 12, 2017

I'm just opening the Organizer and after 1 minute a warning comes up that the program has failed and that window shuts down the program.

I don't know if it  anything to do with the problem, but this started to occur after the last Windows update.

According to the event log it is the file ffmpeg.dll that cause theproblem, and that the file is locatedat the path:  C:\WINDOWS\system32\ffmpeg.dll

I have a 64 bit Windows 10 computer bought earlier this year, and PSE15 has workedafter some helo With theinstallation from the chat room.

Why is the chat room not available today by the way?

Is there anybody that has any idea what I should do to come around the problem?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Please try out following instructions and see if it helps:

  1. Launch Elements Organizer while keeping the Shift key pressed to open the Catalog Manager.
  2. In the Catalog Manager dialog, click New to create a catalog. Provide a name for the catalog, and then click OK.
  3. Launch the Preferences dialog (Ctrl/Cmd + K).
  4. In the Preferences dialog:
    • In the Media Analysis tab, deselect all checkboxes.
    • In the Files tab, deselect the checkboxes:
--Automatically Search for and Reconnect Missing Files
--Automatically Generate Thumbnails for Video Files
  5. Start Elements Organizer.
  6. If Organizer launches without any issues, switch back to your older catalog.

Thanks,

Anwesha
