Not much change, better  automatic slideshows, still no real customization.

I strongly advise to download the trial version and test it yourself.

Unfortunately you are stuck with the presets. I miss the control over the duration or transitions. Also annoying is that when you select the pan and zoom preset, you no longer have any control over where the pan and zoom start and end. As a result the most important face in the photo may be totally cut off.

Totally agree.  We have no ability to customise and being forced to use what the provider thinks is best.

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

I was using PSE 11 and prompted to upgrade to PSE 2018 which I have done.  Whilst I have already appreciated the enhanced picture editing features and I am sure will continue to do so, I would have thought that any upgrade would continue with a custom feature for building a slide show similar to that in PSE 11.  I am a oldie and like to construct a show to my requirements rather than automatic versions which a provider indicates I should have.  One has a similar experience with Microsoft Windows 10 photo editing, although they are far worse with a somewhat forceful manner, driving me mad.

I recognise that some require the modern trend of immediate results so that the world can see, but I hope eventually we will have the option to customise our own thoughts and preference.

However, I appreciate your help and in the light of your information, will make sure I continue with PSE 11 when necessary.
