I have PSE 2023 and have used it a few times on my new computer with Windows 11.  I tried logging in today and the main window opens but when I hit the Photo Editor button it says it's loading, spins for a little while and then disappears.  I have used Task Manager to close Adobe and also rebooted my computer.  It still does the same thing.  Anyone know how to fix this?

Hello, I am not very techie but I followed through with Greg_S suggestions. After the program would not work as an Adminstrator I contacted Adobe support. Support remote accessed into my computer and fixed the problem. When I asked them to explain why my PSE 2023 worked and then quit working they said it was an issue with my progam activation not being set up correctly. Once we re-entered the seriel number for the program and restarted the computer it worked fine again. Thank you for this commun

Restart your computer.

Go to Windows Start Menu.

Right-click on PS Elements icon.

Select More > Run as administrator.

Hope that helps.

I suspect you have a permission's problem at the OS level.

Do one of the following:

  • Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Mac: Option+Command+Shift) immediately after Photoshop Elements begins launching. Click Yes to delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements settings file.
  • Go to Edit > Preferences (Mac: Photoshop Elements > Preferences > General), click the Reset Preferences on next launch button, and then click OK. When you restart Adobe Photoshop Elements, all preferences are reset to default settings.

I have tried the ACS buttons before, during and after launching and the only box that has come up asked if I wanted to allow Adobe to make changes on my computer.

Are you using an Administrator account?

Are you able to open the program by double-clicking on the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file found in the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2023

Pay careful attention to the name of the .exe file I have listed and don't be confused by the fact that the folder has a blue icon, not the normal yellow windows folder icon:

Snap_2023.02.19_16h31m13s_001.png

If double-clicking doesn't work, right-click on the the .exe file and select Run as administrator.

Are you using the Organizer?  If so, try going to the Organizer>Edit>Preferences>Media Analysis dialog and turn of all media anlysis checkboxes.

Have you installed any third party plug-ins?  If so, press the Shift key while launching the Editor and skip the loading of the plug-ins when prompted.

Do you have a wi-fi printer?  If so, change it from the default printer and select another available printer, even a print to pdf printer.

If none of these suggestions work, it is time for you to call Adobe Support.  You can start a chat session by clicking on the blue Contact Us button under the Help & Support menu at Adobe.com. Or you can contact Support by telephone using the numbers listed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html. Hours of operation outside of the United States are limited. See the phone link for details.

I contacted Adobe Customer Support by phone at 1-800-915-9428. After being directed to a customer service rep that dealt with Photoshop Elements (prompts 2-2-2) I was connected with a very kind, patient, and knowledgeable man named DJ in New Delhi, India. He walked me through every step, took over my computer through screen share, and repaired the problem. I could not be more thrilled. Thankful to Adobe for providing access to real people who can help with my issues. It is fixed and I am ready to work.
