I used to use Organizer on a daily basis and loved it (PSE 11). I moved away from using it to organize - I don't remember why - and decided it was time to get back to finding things easier again. Well, easy is apparently not available. I dowloaded 2025 about two weeks ago and tried to get it to work. It didn't give me options really - it just started to grab all the images on my computer. I thought it would be okay and it would help me find duplicates and other issues... but then it stopped working. It crashes if I look at too many folders or if I try to optimize or repair the catalog. I can't find a way to search for duplicates. It doesn't work at all.
So I try to contact support... ever tried that? Yikes! It's really hard to find a place to talk to a person, even after you try all the AI suggestions. AI just gives up - doesn't offer an agent. When I finally found a way to request an agent, I got Ankrit. They did a basic answer - delete all the Adobe things running in Task Manager. So I walked through that as if it was new. Of course, it still didn't work. So Ankrit asked if they could remote in to my machine. I agreed, although it made me nervous. They messed around a bit - didn't look like they were doing anything - then suddenly my computer rebooted! Like, no warning at all!
When it finally came back up the remote program came back up and Ankrit restarted Organizer and said it is now working. So I tried optimizing again - crash! I tried to tell Ankrit it wasn't working but they had apparently left the building, although the share was still active.
This level of service is ridiculous. Adobe used to be a serious company, with great products. Sad to see them bottom out like this.

If you purchased Elements 2025 two weeks ago, you should contact Adobe and request a free upgrade to Elements 2026 which was released on October 1, I believe. If you can't get hold of Support (and I know that the level of support is terrible these days), you should request a refund - which is available within 30 days of purchase. See this article for details. (And if they try to tell you that Elements 2025 is subscription software, it is not. It is a 3 year term license.
There are a number of reasons why you could be having problems with your Organizer catalog. Contact us again if you have problems with Elements 2026 and we can work through the possibilities. But if you are not updating an older catalog, I suggest that you start with a new catalog, and if necessary, be more selective in the files that you are importing.
In theory, no true duplicates should be included in a catalog. But if they are, the Organizer is not a good tool for finding them. There are a number of free or cheap utilities that will do the job better.

Hello
What are the specifications of your PC?
It might be worth checking what your PC's paging file size is.
To do this go to Control Panel: Windows key +R, type control and press enter
Then:
Click on System, click on Advanced system settings
Click on the Advanced tab
under performance, click on settings
click on the advanced tab
In the virtual memory section check the total paging file size, click change
Change it to a custom size, I've got mine set to 8000 MB min and Max, I do have 32GB of RAM which I thought wouldn't require a big paging file
If I go lower than 500 MB I can get Organizer to crash quite easliy
Regards
Michael
