I have recently installed Photoshop Elements 2019 on a new MacBook. When I go to do anything I keep getting the spinning rainbow wheel. It eventually goes but should it take so long to load up?

    Hi Npmurphy,

Sorry that you're getting a spinning rainbow wheel while using Photoshop Elements 2019. That shouldn't be happening, let us help make this right.

Could you please take a look at this steps mentioned in this article Troubleshoot system errors, freezes, and crashes in Photoshop Elements and let us know if that helps?

    Thanks,

    Akash

    Hi Akash,

Thank you for replying I have tried to follow the instructions on the

    troubleshooting page but without success!

I have checked the requirements and the updates and they all seem to be ok.

However, when I get to No. 3 - re-create the Elements Organizer Preference

File and get as far as the App Support I can't find Adobe Elements

    Organizer!!

I have tried closing down everything and then opening the programme again

but I still have the spinning ball!

I would not be very good at all of this so any help would be great.

I have also checked the Security and Privacy for Accessibility.

    Many thanks,

    Noel

    Hi Noel

Try trashing the saved prefs manually.

    Quit Elements (if running)

Launch Finder and go to your user Library

Hold down Alt and on the menu click Go to choose Library

Go to preferences and trash the following files & folders:

    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 17 Paths

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 17 Settings

    com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.17.0.plist

    com.adobe.ElementsOrganizer175.plist

    Re-launch Elements

N.B. Apple hides the user Library which will appear automatically in the Go menu when holding down the Option (Alt) key.
