Hello Adobe Community,
I trust all had a wonderful day. To those who celebrate Valentine's Day, I hope your day was peaceful and special. I have an interesting task which is giving me some trouble completing. My logo was designed on a white background and the ribbon in the design is white. I need the logo on a transparent background without losing the white in the ribbon. Any suggestions!
Thanks,
Mel
1. First reset the Magic Wand Tool
2. Then click on one area of the ribbon and Shift click to select the other ribbon areas until the whole ribbon is selected
3. Go to Layer>New Fill Layer>Solid Color, set the Mode to Multiply and select your color in the color picker or
sample a color from the Swatches panel. To change the color later, double click on the Color Fill adjustment layer
thumbnail in the layers panel.

There are lots of ways to do this.
Here's one way:
1. Select the Magic Wand Tool
Set the Tolerance to Zero and uncheck Contiguous
2. Click somewhere on the white area outside the Ribbon
This makes a selection of the logo and ribbon as below with the "marching ants"
3. Go to Edi>Cut
This removes the White area and leaves the logo and ribbon

Wow, there are no words to thank you enough Jeff. I appreciate this so much. This logo is in memory of my beloved sister Marie. Would you give me instruction on how I can change the color or the ribbon? I need one more for my niece 11 yr. old Amaya, we lost her to brain cancer.
Do you have a P.O. Box so I can send you something for your assistance?
Humbly,
Mel

Jeff, that was clever method of coloring the ribbon!
I would like to add that if you uncheck the Contiguous box on the toolbar, a single click anywhere on the ribbon selects the entire ribbon at once. In my version of PSE the default is Contiguous.
