Saving Drop Shadow effects

How do I save the new drop shadow I create so I can use it again?  When I do scrapbook pages, I need to use drop shadows of different depths depending on the object.  I would rather not have to do all the steps each time I need to use a drop shadow.

Tips:

- The last settings you have created are 'sticky' within your session. You can always select your layers and add the last settings.

- Within an editing session, select the layers needing the same settings and apply it at the same time. Much quicker than saving and retrieving a given setting from a library.

- If you create very special settings (more than thickness), why not use the following procedure.

You create a new .psd or .tiff file. Each layer will have a particular setting. You give the layer a descriptive name. That will be your drop shadow (or other style) personal library. You keep that file open while working on your project. When you need a given style, you switch to your library, select the style, apply it without changing anything. The saved settings are available when you switch back to your main edit.

Problem is according to the article "Action files cannot be created in Photoshop Elements".  I don't have full Photoshop so I can't create drop shadow action files.  Maybe I can find some by searching the web.
