Scanned Photos Imported into PSE 2023, Only 1 Displays, but 9 DO NOT; Windows 11

I scanned 10 Old photos in 1200 dpi using my HP Printer Scanning, and had them imported into my PSE 2023 running in Windows 11. Only 1 shows up both as a Thumbnail and full view when double-clicked, but NINE others do NOT. The file sizes are as follows: One that displays is 4.42 MB; others are 17.8, 57.8, 17.8, 74.2, 52.7, 7.99, 63.1, 15.6, and 62.6 MB. I don;t know if the size is a reason or not. I am hoping someone knowledgeable can help me fix this issue. Thank you so much.

You don't say the format of your scans: jpg, tiff or ?

I am pretty sure that you have a problem of size, but not the file size in MB, the file size in pixels.

If you scan at 1200 ppi, chances are that you have met the size limit for Elements (30 000 pixels max in each dimension) and much less for the organizer.

I'll come back when I have found the tech doc about that size limit and the possible workaround.

Your link was quite helpful in understanding the system behavior. I have 12 GB (11.8 Usable) of RAM on my computer. So, looks like I can handle up to 72 Megapixels. This explains why the 4.42 MB at 4862X6037 was displayed but the others did not -- all of those were much in excess of 72 GP.

But the two new adjusted ones came up to slightly over 73MP but both are dispalying OK! Michel, is it possible that the system has a little bit of tolerance over 72 MP limit?

Thank you.

Strange, I tried to open one of these, that do not display, in the EDITOR, and it shows up there! I saved it and rtturned to Organizer and it still does not show the Thubnail, nor does it open up fully when I double click it! I am a bit confused.
