Sharing Photos with captions and notes

By default, your keywords, captions and notes are stored only in your catalog, not in the media files themselves.

You must use the File menu option to 'Write metadata to files' (shortcut Ctrl W). Then other softwares like Windows explorer can see your keywords, captions and ratings... but the notes are written in a special Adobe metadata fiels which other softwares (except those specialized for exif analysis) won't see.

Instead of notes, you can often use captions to store that kind of information.
