I just got a new computer, so will be reinstalling PSE 14, and want to import my catalog of scrapbooking supplies and keep all my tags. In the past when I've updated PSE, or added it to a new device, I've 1) lost the organization structure, and 2) when I click on a tag to search for a file, only a small fraction of the items I've tagged show up. I'm always careful to save metadata to files after I've tagged them, so I'm not sure why this is happening.
- Re-importing is never recommended. - I don't use the new tabs (people, places and events) but for 'normal' keywords, it's always possible to reassign them individually or by selected batches.

If you are using the backup/restore process, there is no need to worry about saving the keyword tag structure to file. You only need to use that if you are doing a fresh import of your files.
