The 'pictures' folder

New Here ,
Mar 25, 2017 Mar 25, 2017

Hi all,

I am getting a bit confused and wanted some help regarding the role of the 'pictures' folder. I have imported all my files from iphoto by exporting them to a folder on my desktop and then importing that as when i did it in bulk it, there were duplicates.

In the home page, there is my folders on the left hand side viewed in a tree format.

My Pictures folder at the top of the list of folders is empty and all my photos sit under the headings Macintosh>Users>Lukas>Desktop>Exported photos.

My questions is

  • are these files now imported?
  • If I right click on the folder is states, "import media", I thought I already had?
  • Why is the Pictures folder empty? It doesn't make sense that they are not in my pictures folder as they are my pictures!!
  • If I then move them to be in the Pictures folder, that seems to duplicate them all.

Many thanks for your help,

Regards,

Lukas
