Hello guys and girls
I'm new to Photoshop and I'm in the process of learning to create my on custom logo! Can anyone direct me to safe place to download free fonts? Also do I need to put the fonts in a special place within the PS folders or can I throw them with my other windows fonts?
Thanks.
This site has an abundance of fonts and provides good viewing samples so you can see what they look like. They are all free and I've never had a problem with them.

To install a font on the PC, simply drag the unzipped font file into your Operating System's Fonts folder. You may have to restart Photoshop Elements to make it recognize the newly installed font, depending on the version you are using and your OS.
If you are on a Mac, I can't help with font installation.

If you google for free fonts you will get many hits.
This site is quite good:
There are instructions for installation. Don't install too many fonts, as they will slow down your system. Keep track of the fonts that you install so that in case you want to uninstall, you will know which ones to target.

Why would that be a safe idea? The question came as a request for a safe place. Doesn't that assume a personal use experience or some consumer publication research creds at least?

You mentioned instructions for installing the fonts....I can't seem to find these anywhere. From what I'm seeing on YouTube I should install them with my windows fonts but this seem that it would make it hared to delete them later if I so choose to.

I recommend that you also copy the font file to your project folder, create a subfolder for fonts you use, to ensure that the font stays with the project if you move it to another machine.
