Updating Adobe Camera Raw - How?

I have an older version of PSE - v11. It shipped with Camera Raw v7.1` and can be updated to v7.4.

My camera requires at least v7.3 for support.

So all was well and I had PSE's version of Camera Raw new enough to support my camera.

However, I ended up having to reinstall Windows/PSE etc on my PC.

I now have a version of PSE with the old version of camera raw. It appears I can no longer update to a more recent version of camera raw as

I can't find the installer on Adobe any more. I can see the DNG converter which is one option (although not keen on that route).

It's a bit annoying that I know the Camera Raw exists but seems to have been made unavailable making my purchased software useless 😞

Is it possible to download v7.3 or v7.4 Camera Raw from somewhere?

Other possibility is I also have the PSE 11 on my laptop with the right version of camera raw.

Is is possible to copy files from one to the other?

Any help appreciated.

Pete

    Yes.

See my third link. PSE2018 and 2019 are ok. The current PSE2019 can be updated to ACR 10.4 (not updated in the link).

    Edit:

    I don't know of an EOS  II i ?

    Hi Pete

Yes if your laptop is also Windows you can copy the camera raw plug-in to the other PC after first deleting the incorrect plug-in.

My blog has some instruction, although relating to PSE14 but you should be able to follow the file path for PSE11.

Hi. Thanks for the prompt response.

Yes the paths are the same for PSE11. Si copied the 8bi file you suggested from laptop to my main PC.

Started up PSE11. But it is still not recognising the raw files. Doing Help->About->Plugins->Camera Raw on the main PC gives 7.1.

Whereas on the laptop it's giving 7.4. I can see by the file size on the main PC that the old and new Camera Raw file are different.

I wonder if there is anything else required?

It should work if you have ACR 7.4 on the laptop. Are you using an external drive or thumb drive to copy to the desktop on the PC?

You must delete the existing 8bi file first. Then drag or copy the 8bi file from the desktop into the empty File Formats folder.
