Upgrading from PSE 7.0 to PSE 2018

I have PS Elements 7.0 that does not work properly with Windows 10 and I have decided to upgrade to PSE 2018. If I buy PSE 2018 and install it, will my previous tags and albums etc still be there or what shall I do to keep them?

Maybe state what is wrong with PSE7 on Windows 10? I can work normally with PSE6 on Windows 10 Creator. Did you install the latest Windows update (build 1709)?

When installing Elements 2018 (even the trial version) you should get a prompt to convert your current PSE7 catalog. Nearly everything should be recovered in the new catalog: tags, captions, notes, stacks, version sets; not all projects should be converted.

You can play safe in installing the trial version first.

There is no hurry to delete the old version after installing the new one. I would locate the current catalog folder: menu Help >> System Information and save it somewhere for more safety.

Of course, a full backup is always a good idea and it's necessary if you want to move to a new computer.

    Edit:

Save the whole catalog folder, it's not only the catalog.pse7db database.
