Upload photos to D drive instead of C

I have been using Elements for many years but am not proficient with it! When I upload photos to organizer from my SD card I would like them to go to my D drive and not C. I had it that way on my old computer but got a new one and it appears the one I tested to see where it went was to C:\Users\jmill\Pictures\Adobe\Photos from removable media\E

I have no idea why but would like them on my D drive. The Elements program is currently on my C drive too.  My photo files are pretty much a big mess that are categorized by date only.

I am confused, like usual. I would like my photos stored on my D drive. I am using Photoshop Elements 2023. Windows 11. Many of my photos are in D because I transferred them there when I got my new computer. I would note that in Preferences it says Save Files in D: Pictures. I just uploaded a photo to make sure they are going to D and when I look at the location given for that particular photo it shows: C: \users\jmill\pictures\adobe\photos from removable media\

This would make me believe that they are going to the C drive instead of the D when I upload them from my SD card. Any help is appreciated! Also, in reference to Elements under Preferences I see Files, Media Cache with option to "Clear Cache" or "Browse". not sure what those are in reference to. Using Elements 2023 in Win 11.
