Watermark opacity??

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor 2018 and I am trying to watermark my photos. I have figured out how to save the watermark into my default brushes, but when I go to place the brush onto my image, I A) do not see a preview of the brush before I click, and B) the brush ends up being very light and not full color, even though the opacity is at 100%.

Any ideas??

Open a blank layer at the top and place the copyright on this layer, then change the layer's blending mode to darken or multiply. Make sure that both the brush and layer opacities are =100%.

Unfortunately this hasn’t fixed it. It is still very light and I have tried all of the blending modes. All opacity is set at 100%. I have to have something in my settings making this happen. But not sure what!

Try this:

Reset the brush tool to default. In earlier versions of the software look for a little triangle on the brush tool's option bar, top left. Click on this to reset.. Later versions of the software have a box with lines in it, bottom right.

Click to reset.

If that does not fix it, go to Edit menu>Preferences>General and look for this:
