I have worked with Adobe Photoshop full suite and Photoshop Elements in the past. I was able to create anything I wanted with photos and artwork combined. I published books and book covers with what I was able to do. Because I have a Mac Air now, I bought Adobe Photoshop Premiere Elements and Photoshop Premiere Elements combined, thinking I could continue my work. What I have run into, is that I can't even get two photos into the software at once. The software seems to only want to make collages and edit pictures. When I look up what to buy, I run into paying by the month for the rest of my life for software that seems not to be like the old Photoshop. What do I need?

    Hi,

I'm not a MAC person but I think the following still applies.

Adobe Photoshop Elements is mainly for still photos & images

Adobe Premiere Elements is mainly for video work

    Both use the same organizer

Are you having problems getting more than one image at a time into the organizer or the editor?

If you can't open more than one image in the editor, go to the Edit menu and select Preferences -> General

Check the option Allow Floating Documents in Expert Mode and click on ok

Next make sure you switch to Expert mode (see near the top centre)

You should be able to open more than ine file and move the windows around

Thanks for replying. I did what you suggested and it worked. However, I need something more than the software I now have and will try to find out what will work better for me. Thanks again.

    Hi,

If you load the Photoshop Elements editor, across the top of the main workspace you should see 4 modes eLive,  Quick, Guided and Expert.

Click on Expert and a whole lot of tools are available. If you select a tool, say the brush, toward the bottom of the window you will see various options. I'm sure that you should be able to find something you like.

To get started with a blank sheet, go to the File Menu and select New -> Blank File

    Hope that helps a little

    Hi Brian,

    I can't thank you enough.

I just used all your information and downloaded a Create Space book cover template and put it into Photoshop Elements. It works! I can now do what I want.

    THANK YOU.
