Adobe Photoshop Elements 7: Will not accept serial #

I purchased Photoshop Elements 7 a number of years ago.  Recently it began crashing and would not load onto my PC (grey/black screen).  I searched online for solutions to this problem without success.  When I noticed on Adobe's web site that the program was still available to download, I uninstalled the version and downloaded Elements 7 hoping that would correct the problem.

The program installed fine, but when I attempt to open a photo it asks me for my serial number.  I entered the serial number listed for my registered version of Elements 7 on Adobe's web site, but apparently it is invalid.  I don't want to purchase Photoshop all over again and would be grateful for anyone's thought about how to resolve this issue.

Thanks,

Richard

We're all screwed by Adobe. Went through a lengthy chat session and their PSE 7 registration servers are no longer in service is their excuse.

Seems Adobe plays games with people who want to use their original version.

I have the same problem. I also have a legit serial #. It appears in my adobe ID account. So i am 100% sure it is legit. However in when i insert it after i succesfully download the program it says the serial # is invalid. I want to use PS elements 7 on my new computer. I downloaded it succesfully from the website. But it does not accept the serial number. I downloaded both the english and german version. On my original computer I have the dutch version. Maybe that is the problem. I am not sure. If that is the problem where can i download the dutch version. Because on the website you can only download english, french, german, japanese and swedish.  Download Photoshop Elements versions 9, 8, 7

I have the same issue as Richard but my computer crashed and I had to download from online .  Same thing.  I have the s/n and it will not work.  I got mine in a bundle with my Epson printer a long time ago.  I love my 7  .  I want it back

Bundled software is usually only allowed to be installed on one computer.

Are you installing on the same computer and operating system on which it originally worked?

Yes, I am trying to reinstall Photoshop Elements 7 on the same PC.  I can't imagine why Adobe would not allow it to be reinstalled since I had a licensed version that ceased to function.  It was not clear to me when I downloaded Photoshop to try and fix the problem that the installation would be blocked.  Why wouldn't Adobe allow me to activate Photoshop 7 on the same PC?

The disc version and download version may require different serial numbers for version 7.

Do you have the disc?

I do not remember if I purchased the program, it came pre-loaded on my PC, or I downloaded it.  Unfortunately, I do not have a disk and hoped that the serial number listed under my Adobe account would work.  Do you know if Adobe will issue a functional serial number since I previously purchased the software?  Thanks

No, they will not.
