Hi,
need to install Camera Raw Version 12.2 or higher in Photoshop Elements 2020, because of new Nikon D780. Installaion of Photoshop Elements 2020 worked well. Downloaded Camera Raw 12.2.1
Installation runs without failure, but PSE still shows Camera Raw Version 12.0
What to do ??

Correct answer Greg_S.

There is actually a workaround to get ACR 12.4 or any later version to work with Elements 2020.  Check out this link.

Read this faq:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-elements/faq-will-photoshop-elements-work-with-my-camera-or-why-won-t-my-raw-files-open/td-p/4303022?page=1

and especially the two links for which cameras are supported and which ACR versions are supported in various softwares.

PSE2020 can only be updated to ACR 12.0.

The version you have downloaded is only for the full Photoshop. The PSE version is a different version with less features, it has only the essential ones. On the other hand, the PSE ACR version is less frequently updated; don't expect PSE2020 to be updated since a new version is awaited soon if history repeats itself.

The solution for you is to download the free Adobe DNGconverter mentioned in that faq. That standalone program (not a plugin) batch converts a whole folder of your raw files to the DNG raw format that your current version of ACR can read and edit. An additional batch step, but free and with the same quality.

Hi
Since your question is about Photoshop Elements, I have moved this from the Photoshop forum where you posted.
