I have Elements 13 - I am currently digitizing old 35mm slides, however, this still results in a digitized copy of the slide - can Elements 13 convert these digitized versions into picture images and, if so, how?

Why not call and/or e-mail ion for help with the unit.

Another option - there are several vendors who will do this for you. Depending on the number of slides to be converted, it may be cost effective.

OH DEAR - A VERY EXTREMELY SENIORE CITIZEN/MAN MOMENT!!!!!

I went back to the instructions and found I had to press another button or two and, GUESS WHAT?  IT WORKS!!!!!

Many, Many Apologies for taxing your (and my) brain - in the words of the Immortal Simpson "DOHHHHH!"

Again many thanks and have a Great New Year.

Are you utilizing a digital converter? If not, how are you doing it?

Am using an ION PICS 2 SD Scanner so have no choice in the saved format - it just comes out as a digitised copy of the 35mm slide

I have scanned a couple of hundred slides with a similar unit without any problem. I looked up info. about your unit, and found this:

"Pics 2 SD has a built-in SD card slot, so you can scan directly to virtually any SD card without needing a computer. You can also connect Pics 2 SD to your Mac or PC and use it as a handy SD card reader. You can drag and drop your pictures from Pics 2 SDright onto your desktop."

When I open a picture file derived in a similar manner, it is JPEG format, and looks ok on screen and prints just fine. Some of the files benefit from adjustment  in PSE, e.g. Levels, Brightness/contrast, Unsharp mask. I do that for the "keepers".

So, please tell us more as to the issue that you encounter.

Can't you save the scans as JPGs?
