Creating Watermark in Photoshop Elements

There are a number of instruction sets for creating watermarks - all of which agree that starting with a new file (with background set transparent)  create the text required and then crop it to suit and then turn the image into a brush using the Define Brush Option from the dropdown list in the Edit Menu.

However, when I try to do so the Define Brush option is "greyed out" for some reason.

Any Ideas please?

    Hi,

    Please try following and see if this helps:

    Select the text using selection tool and then click Edit>Define brush from selection

    I think you are not making any selection(using a selection tool) before checking Edit menu.
