Question

How to type in math symbols/equations

There is an old post regarding how to enter math equations into PSE 6, but I'm hoping that Adobe has done something about this problem in the intervening time without resorting to a third-party plugin.  Will equations from the latest version of the equation editor in MS Word import directlly into Photoshop now? If they do, are they still editable?

Thanks!

You can use the Text tool but only then to copy & paste e.g. from a Word document. But you should be able to do some basic re-editing if the text layer is saved. For example I added # 4 to the string below using the text tool - see web image.

Chuck,

Thanks, but I'd like to be able to able to type in and edit something like this:

maxL=

This is a copy-and-paste from Word's Equation Editor.  You can see that maxL is straight text and comes over without as regular text, but the formula itself comes over as a graphic and is not as sharp and is certainly not editable.
