Question

.RAF files from Fujifilm X-T30 not opening in Elements 14

I know the issue of opening .RAF files has come up before, but not in connection with the X-T30, and maybe something has changed in the meantime. Anyhoo, I can't get the files to open. I have the latest version of Camera Raw. Anybody had the same issue and managed to solve it?

The Fujifilm X-T30 was first supported in Camera Raw 11.2.

    Cameras supported by Camera Raw

Elements 14 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 9.5 so you'll never be able to a) update to version 11.2, or b) open those Raw files in Elements 14.

Camera Raw plug-in and Adobe application compatibility

    Options:

    1. Upgrade to the current version Elements 2019 to open X-T30 Raw files or
    2. Download the free Adobe DNG converter and convert all your X-T30 Raw files to DNG format. Then open the converted DNG files (not the RAW files) in Elements 14. An extra step for you but no extra cost.

Elements 2019 does not support X-T30 Raw (RAF) files as it is 11.1 still. Very frustrating to pay in March for the latest version to find it does not contain the 2019 Camera Raw plug-in is this just a way to force people to have to buy the more expensive full photoshop!

    Doesn't have to be.

You can use the free Adobe DNG converter to convert X-T30 Raw files to DNG format then edit the DNGs in PSE 2019.

If you have Elements 14, you do not have the latest version of Camera Raw.  Your option is to use the free DNG converter.
