Scanning error message; the file already exists in the catalogue

I successfully scanned some thirty pictures from within elements 2018 organizer. I managed to work out how to save the files to a specified folder, I called it HP scans, the folder is on my NAS. Having completed a set of scans I moved them to another folder called 1978, big mistake!

When i tried to scan another pictures, I got a message saying the file already exists. It gave the location as C: users/XXX/appdata/local/temp/psalbuminport/2018-01-03-1448-17-scan. Thinking I might be clever I moved all the files from this location. This had no effect.

When I scanned another picture a new folder was created in the same place, with a similar name. Within the folder was the scanned picture with the name scan. So the existing file was in fact the file itself.

Please help.  I need to buy 2018 as the trial is nearly up, but there is no point buying if this cannot be solved. In the same way as the scaling for 4k monitor, cannot be resolved.

I still struggle with the concept of buying a product with any support from the vendor.

Sorted it for myself. Helpfully every scan is saved as scan then scan1 etc.Unfortunately, this resets every time you start a new session. All that is required is a prompt to name the file.
