Adobe Photoshop 2020 Saving bug

Explorer ,
Nov 25, 2019 Nov 25, 2019

Everytime I save a document in the new PS 2020 it stucks in 99% and doesn't let me even cancel the save. I have to force quit the app and, as it didn't finish the save, I lose the file. It has happened like 5 times already and I have lost all of the files. Please fix this!

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

What do you have »Automatically Save Recovery Information Every:« set to?

Outstanding. Had the same problem, but it looks like this resolved it for me too. Thank you!

UPDATE: This worked for a while and now doesn't again... Super frustrating.

Having the exact same problem with Photoshop 2020 and a recent upgrade from Mojave to Catalina.

I'm working from an external SSD (as I've always done) and running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.2.

Experiencing multiple crashes and lost several hours of work today trying to solve this. The 99% saved hangup is ALSO corrupting the orignal psd file making it useless. Had to start saving multiple versions and relying on the autosaves to get anything done.

An otherwise productive afternoon turned into a bout of frustation and trouble shooting. I'm going back to PS 2019 and hoping that does the trick.

***Update***

Well, I went back to PS 2019 and now the save hang up occurs at 76%. So hardly an improvement. Having to hard reboot my machine after each PS force quit as well. Sigh. I need a drink. I'll call tech support tomorrow and post another update if I find a solution.

In other words, that shows you it's Catalina, not Photoshop.

Interesting assertion. Although, none of my other apps have a problem saving to hard drive.

Nice try. It doesn't happen in any other app, just Photoshop. Quit shifting blame and find the cause of the problem IN Adobe Photoshop.

Nice try. Don’t try to order other Photoshop users around.

After all this is a user Forum and the Adobe employees who do drop by are clearly identified. (edited)

Drollery aside »It doesn't happen in any other app, just Photoshop.« may not necessarily prove what you seem to think it proves.

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?

What are your application and OS versions etc.?
